Expanded recycling services for campgrounds coming in 2025

Circular Materials is excited to expand Nova Scotia’s extended producer responsibility (EPR) recycling program for packaging and paper products to campgrounds starting December 1, 2025 and for the 2026 season. This will make recycling easier and more accessible for residents who visit campgrounds.

For the latest updates, refer to our FAQ section below, which will be regularly updated with common questions and program details.

How the program works

Campgrounds interested in recycling services can register via our online registry, which will launch on March 1, 2025.

After registration, Circular Materials will use your campground information to arrange recycling collection services. The assigned collector will then contact the campground’s contact person to discuss next steps and may schedule a site visit.

Key dates

Campgrounds can register using the form below.

  • May 31, 2025: Registration deadline for services starting December 1, 2025.
  • December 1, 2025: Recycling service begins for sites with winter operations.
  • 2026 season: Recycling service begins coinciding with campground operations (e.g., Spring 2026).

The registry will remain open and future service cadences will be announced.
